The country world lost a legend last April with the passing of George Jones. While the country community mourned and celebrated his life with a public funeral last May in Nashville, his widow Nancy Jones will honor him again on April 26 — exactly one year after his death — according to GeorgeJones.com.

“Friends and fans of the late George Jones are welcome to celebrate his legacy as Nancy will plant two dogwood trees at the ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’ monument,” reads a statement on the website.

“This day is going to be bittersweet,” Nancy Jones said. “I know how much people loved George, and the love has continued even a year later. I am so fortunate for the friends and fans that George and I made through the years. I want everyone to come celebrate with us, not because he is no longer with us, but to keep his legacy alive.”

The event takes place Saturday, April 26 at 1pm CT at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville.

Jones passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, after being hospitalized on April 18th with a fever and irregular blood pressure. He was 81.
